«Always me?! A slightly different journey to you»

A glance in the mirror, then a clumsy finger lands on the tip of the nose: "That's me!". Hardly anyone may remember this moment and yet a great adventure begins here: Who am I? What do I want to become one day? How do I think about others and how do they think about me? The exhibition "Always me? A somewhat different journey to you" takes you on a special kind of expedition. It playfully shows how one's own identity develops, shapes and changes in the course of one's life.

It's like trying to freeze a falling raindrop with your gaze; that's how it can feel to describe who you are. Identity is neither static nor can it be quite grasped. We learn to walk and talk, tie our shoes for the first time, pack our school bag and later our travel suitcase. At some moments we are completely ourselves, at others we long to be someone else. In life, we meet people who may be similar to us or those whose looks and lifestyles are different from our own. The exhibition "Always me?! A slightly different journey to you" traces some individual, social and cultural aspects that influence one's own identity.
