Mansion and museum through the ages - guided tour through the construction site of the old Wettsteinhaus

Saturday, 21st March 2020, 2pm

With Julia Nothelfer, head of museum, and Thomas Lutz, head of building consulting, historic preservation, BS

At the old Wettsteinhaus the bourgeois way of living of the 17th century meets modern arts and cultural mediation: once a stately home, the heritage-protected building houses the toy, village and vineyard museum since almost 50 years.
From February 2020 on the museum closes its doors for a year; there'll be a renovation, a smooth conversion and the preparation of two new permanent exhibitions. The rooms will be emptied of objects and cabinets which makes way for a viewing and a reflection over historic and modern views and ideas.
In close dialogue with the head of museum and the consultant of building nd historic preservation you will get to know exciting facts about the house, through the ages and about the precious objects and stories that will be shown in the 21st century.
A maximimum of 20 people, registration via:

This tour answers these and more questions about the border, customs and smuggling and take you on an exciting trip through time, along and over the border!
