Riehen is both a town and a natural wonder. The various large parks are green oases that can scarcely be found anywhere else with such splendour and density. It therefore comes as no surprise that the unique historic parks are also highly appreciated by the local resi-dents. Walking and Hiking

You can enjoy countless walking and hiking paths in and around Riehen. They are marked by the natural surroundings, idyllic landscapes and the magnificent historic parks. The nat-ural belt Riehen is nestled in can be explored on short strolls or long hikes depending on one's taste.

Cycling

Anyone who enjoys cycling around will also be in their element in Riehen. For example, on the bicycle path from the Fondation Beyeler to the Vitra Design Museum in Weil am Rhein (Germany) or on a tri-national tour that includes Germany as well as France. You'll find plenty of wonderful routes in and around Riehen for exploring the culture, history and na-ture of the area by bike.

Swimming

Swimming is popular in Riehen. On beautiful summer days, the natural pool Naturbad Riehen is worth a visit – also for its architectural design. The Wiese river also offers tranquil spots on the banks, in the heart of the natural scenery. In the town itself, there is also a Kneipp facility open all-year-round and the small indoor pool (Hallenbad).
