Wiese Landscape Park

Wiese Landscape Park covers around six square kilometres and borders the residential areas of Weil am Rhein and Lörrach (both in Germany) as well as Basel and the munici-pality of Riehen. Open, expansive meadows, forests, water and a fascinating world of an-imal characterise the park. You can also find walking and cycling paths as well as leisure facilities here: such as playgrounds, the indoor and outdoor Laguna pool on the German side or the Lange Erlen zoo and the natural pool Naturbad Riehen on the Swiss side. The park was established in 1999 on the occasion of the "Grün 99" horticultural show, for which the Landscape Formation One building was created by the star architect Zaha Hadid.
