Kandertalbahn

The first steam locomotives already began running between Haltingen near Weil am Rhein and Kandern back in 1895. Since 1983 only heritage trains have been travelling along the single-track branch line. Anyone who wants to ride a train like in the olden days will be in their element here – either on shaky steam trains, pulled in some cases by engines over a century old, or in the traditional diesel railcar built in 1928. The historic trains run every Sunday from May to October. Special trips are also possible outside these times for groups.
